KMM-NoE

The Network of Excellence ‘Knowledge-based multicomponent materials for durable and safe performance’ (KMM-NoE) has been established  in order to create a coherent pan-European structure of key academic and research institutions, SMEs and large industry partners in the field of knowledge-based multicomponent materials designed for safe and durable performance in highly demanding loading and environmental conditions. Such materials include functionally graded materials, metal-ceramic composites and intermetallics

Objectives
The primary goal of the Network of Excellence ‘Knowledge-based multicomponent materials for durable and safe performance’ (KMM-NoE) is to create a coherent pan-European structure of key academic and research institutions, SMEs and large industry partners in the field of knowledge-based multicomponent materials designed for safe and durable performance in highly demanding loading and environmental conditions.   read more...
Structure
The project will integrate research facilities and transfer technologies between partners to provide a stronger foundation for European research, as well as executing joint research in the areas of processing, microstructural characterisation, modelling, industrial applications and standardisation.   read more...
Participants
The KMM-NoE brings together a critical mass of high level expertise (key academic and research institutions, SMEs and large industry partners) in the field of knowledge-based multicomponent materials from across 10 countries in Europe.   read more...

KMM Virtual Institute

One of the key contractual deliverables of the KMM-NoE project is the KMM Virtual Institute (KMM-VIN). The KMM-VIN is a non-profit research association legally registered in Belgium as an AISBL (“association internationale sans but lucratif”).
